Dr Melissa Rouel
BPsych(Hons) MPsych(Clin Neuro) PhD
Melissa is a board endorsed Clinical Neuropsychologist with over 15 years experience. She specialises in the diagnosis and management of neurodevelopmental disorders, including intellectual disability, specific learning disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). She is passionate about helping children and adults with attention and learning difficulties find their potential.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and a Master of Clinical Neuropsychology from Macquarie University – she also completed a PhD through Western Sydney University studying the emotional and cognitive processes involved in obsessive compulsive disorder. She has published research on a range of health and psychological conditions, including ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, neurofibromatosis type 1 and obesity.
Melissa has also worked at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in the Neurogenetics Learning Clinic and the Kids Rehab Department. Currently, she works at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) as a clinical supervisor and lecturer in cognitive assessment for postgraduate psychology students. She has also delivered lectures in cognitive assessment for postgraduate students at Western Sydney University.
