Dr Melissa Rouel
BPsych(Hons) MPsych(Clin Neuro) PhD
I am a board endorsed Clinical Neuropsychologist with over 10 years experience. I have worked at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in the Neurogenetics Learning Clinic and the Kids Rehab Department. Currently, I am working at University of Technology Sydney (UTS) as a clinical supervisor and lecturer in cognitive assessment for postgraduate psychology students. I have also delivered lectures in cognitive assessment for postgraduate students at Western Sydney University.
I specialise in the diagnosis and management of neurodevelopmental disorders, including intellectual disability, specific learning disorders and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). I am also very passionate about helping individuals manage ADHD in adulthood.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and a Master of Clinical Neuropsychology from Macquarie University. I have also completed a PhD through Western Sydney University studying the emotional and cognitive processes involved in obsessive compulsive disorder. I have published research on a range of health and psychological conditions, including obsessive compulsive disorder, neurofibromatosis type 1 and obesity.
